The Plastic Problem
Typically 3.6 billion toothbrushes will be disposed of annually, yet 70% of people don’t change their toothbrush at the recommended 3 month interval.
It is estimated that 100,000 turtles, marine mammals and seabirds die a slow and painful death every year because they have a stomach full of plastic bags, bottle caps and, yes, old toothbrushes with no room for actual food*.
In the U.S.A alone between 850m & 1bn toothbrushes will be thrown away (•Ref Kooloir.com & Marine Conservation Institute).
Dental Elements want to encourage our patients to do our bit …and take responsibility and re-cycle their brushes and Tepe’s.
