How long should cosmetic work take?
Whitening 2-3 weeks
Whitening can take just two to three weeks, depending on how white you want to go. Whitening should ideally be done one month before a big occasion like a wedding and then toped up three or four days before the big day. We use a world-class product called Enlighten, which guarantee’s to lighten your teeth to the brightest natural occurring shade of teeth.
Ceramic veneers/composite veneers 4-6 weeks
Many people consider porcelain veneers to help give a smile they always dreamed of very speedily. These are tiny shells of ceramic, glued or bonded to cover the teeth; they straighten minor discrepancies, close gaps and give you a white bright “Hollywood smile”.
We always advise tooth whitening first. Bonding can only commence two weeks after whitening is completed because as the teeth need time to settle.
Invisalign 3-18 months
Invisalign is an excellent way of straightening your teeth before the big day, as no one will know you are in treatment. Time scales depends on the severity of your case. You ideally need to allow at least 3-18 months. Our dentist Chirag Patel is an accredited Invisalign provider and has a broad spectrum of teeth-straightening experience. Call the practice reception team, and they can book you an appointment with him.
Dental Implants 3-6 months
If you have numerous teeth missing or just one single tooth, your best option is to go for an implant. Implants are hugely popular. Dental implants replace a missing tooth entirely. They are surgically placed into the jawbone, and it takes a minimum of 3 months to heal and fuse with the surrounding tissue. Depending on the complexity of the case and healing time, treatment can take 3-6 months.
Maintaining your smile is vital.
Once you’ve achieved your perfect smile, please ensure you see a dentist and hygienist regularly. A regular trip to see the dentist and hygienist are extremely important to maintain a wonderful smile. It is also essential to wear your retainers to stop your teeth from returning to their original state.
